The session has flown by and it seems that it was just Opening Day. Campers finished their B activities and will enjoy a last cabin afternoon after rest hour. Some cabins are doing nails/makeup and taking "glamour shots" while others are having a Taboo tournament and playing cards in the cabin.

Thursday:
Today was the last A activity for the campers. We had a super lunch with mashed potatoes, gravy,
turkey slices and dressing! Boy campers are eating canteen and playing in the rec hall while the
girl campers are enjoying a refreshing dip in the lake.

Wednesday:
Rain drops keep falling on my head! We are still going on with activities- even the rain can not stop us!

Kids are skiing, grooming horses, playing tennis and enjoying campfire cooking.
Today is the last C activity and then we are signing up for the Talent Show.
Enjoy the pictures from the last few days.

Tuesday was a wonderful trip day for Camp Chatuga. Campers left as early as 8:45 to get to the river and the rappelling cliff on time. The local trip ,which went down the Chattooga river, had a relaxing time down the river, the Cherokee trip is up in NC watching the Unto these Hills while others are still at Sweet Treats unwinding after a long day. Everyone had a blast it sounds like and we will update the site tomorrow. Campers are allowed to call up until call to quarters which is around 8:30!

 Saturday night-Monday:
We ended Saturday with an awesome 1/2 New year bash! The lodge was decorated with streamers and we had music, popers and a balloon drop! Sunday was lazy Sunday and we all relaxed until lunch. Campers then had free choice and a cookout for supper. Monday brought a new week and another super A activity day.  Campers competed on teams during achery, walked the llama and innertubed on the lake. Tonight is Sound of Chatuga which is a game show that has the counselors getting a pie in the face, dreached with water or winning something good to eat for the cabin.
We will let you know how that goes!

Saturday:
We are getting ready for the 1/2 New Year's Dance. Campers are putting on their top hat and dresses to make their entrance into the Lodge. We are excited and ready to ring in 7/7/07 Chatuga style.
We will have pictures posted this evening.

We have alot going on today. It was B schedule today and we had a hoagies and chips for lunch. After rest hour, we will have general swim/canteen, C activity, catch all buffett and then time to get ready for the 1/2 New Year's Dance. Campers are already talking about what they are wearing! I will update you tonight!

Friday:
The water carnival was a great success! The kids loved the wet shirt relay, inner tube race, watermelon station and sinking the canoes. The counselors on the other hand loved Counselor Hunt! We had a gigantic game of hide and go seek with the campers after supper. There were a few who were not found in all 3 rounds: Chris, Corey, Nan, Dane and Stephanie. Everyone is in bed and ready for a long night of rest.

Today was A schedule day and the kids were off playing tennis, lifting weights and riding through steams on bikes. We are getting cooled off by an afternoon shower. Everything should be clear for our afternoon Water Carnival.

Thursday:
Campers had a full day of activities today. We caught them drawing with Ashley, horsebacking with Rachel and playing basketball with Stephen. Ronnie made catfish fingers with mashed potatoes and gravy for lunch and then campers went down for rest hour!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!
Our 4th of July firework show rocked! Rick did an outstanding job with the firework show and the kids went wild!

Wednesday:
We are having a great day with the sun trying to peek out from behind the clouds. Campers are doing activities such as swimming, horseback riding, crafts and creative writing.
We had a surprise today! ICKY OLYMPICS! The campers had a huge food fight called Icky Olympic on the big ballfield. After, they jumped in the lake to wash off and headed down to get showers. Camp Chatuga put on a 4th of July parade which wound its way up to the cookout that Ronnie had for us at the Lodge. Campers dined on BBQ chicken, pork and hotdogs, danced, played frisbee and soccer during our holiday party.

Tuesday:
Today camper were able to participate in free choice activities around camp. Tables counselors came up with a table activity for their campers after free choice. Table 1 and Table 2 had a "mean" game of volleyball against each other while Andrew's table went canoeing. After rest hour, campers had free swim and canteen time. Counselors then took charge and entertained there campers with cabin afternoon. Campers spend about an hour together bonding over things like making Tye Dye t-shirts, wakeboarding, playing kickball and taking
cabin photos around camp!

Monday:
We started off with a little rain but ended up with a great day. The campers are settling in nicely and they seem extremely excited about their 2 weeks with us! Campers signed up for activities, listened to the welcome program and sang along with the staff! We are off to a great Session C!
