Thursday:
Activities are in progress
with campers cooking chocolate cover preztels, playing an intense game
of soccer, weaving friendship bracelets and knitting stuffed bears.
The sun is out and we are enjoying a nice cool breeze. Camp's dining
hall transformed into a lovely Steakhouse. Campers were served steaks,
potatoes, salad and desert by volunteer waiters and waitresses. Afterwards,
we had a square dance that you would be proud of- kids were swinging
arm to arm, dose -e- doeing, and there were several shouting Yee-Haw
during the fun. Half way through we called canteen and then danced the
night away.
Wednesday:

It has been a full day of activities, fun, sun, canteen
and general swim! Campers are on their way to their last C activity
of the session. They are tubing with Ryan and Lori, Event Decorating
with Valler, archery with Abby, riding Horse with Leppi and playing
guitar with Corey. There is a talent show tonight so I am sure that
we will see "stars" shining onstage! These kids are just super.
Skating was alot of fun for everyone. We stayed at the
rink until 5 and then packed up and went to eat at McDonalds. Campers
brought back candy, glo lights, stuffed animals and tiny toys that they
won from the skating trip. This morning we all slept in and were brought
breakfast in bed. Counselors served their campers pop-tarts, honey buns,
sauage biscuits and fruit. Campers are all at their acitvities this morning.

to finish the morning. There was a soccer game, kickball, volleyball,
swim and even a hair braiding time for the girls! We had lunch a bit
earlier and are planning to load the buses for the skating trip next.
Alien
Invasion: The Game was a success!

The campers successfully solved how to destroy
the aliens- with water. So after collecting all the clues, campers
had a chance to dunk aliens in the booth at the lodge with Nicky
and Andie. There was also Rick and Nan giving cotton candy &
Leanna, Nick, Stephen and Valler handing out sno cones to reward
the campers for their effort.
All campers were out and about in their activities today. We had
a tropical lunch where all campers had to have something on tropical
in order to get into the dining hall. Campers wore on loud colors,
flower print, straw hats, sunglasses and one camper wore all blue
and called himself the ocean. We have some creative minds up here.
After rest hour we had general swim and canteen. Everyone is getting
ready for their C activity and tonight will are being invaded
by aliens! |

Ring where we sang songs, blues performed their skits and Angela handed
out Spirit Sticks. Spirit Sticks are voted on by the staff. We vote

Lazy
Sunday!
Since today is Lazy Sunday we are taking it easy the entire day. This
morning we were able to sleep in until around 11. Most kids were up
by then though eating breakfast, playing in the rec hall, attending
the optional worship service and climbing in the tree. Starting at 11
we had canteen, free swim and then lunch. There was a longer rest hour
and now we are enjoying free choice activities. Free choice time allows
campers to participate in other activities that they may have not had
a chance to sign up for during the session. Ronnie is turning on the
grill for our cookout tonight!
It should be a perfect ending to a super day!

Saturday

Campers heard sounds produced by their counselors and then were asked
questions. Ultimately, campers won either an ice cream party, candy
bars or watched their counselor get "pied" or "soaked!"
It was fun with a capital "F".
We then had a Super Mardi Gras parade with candy throwers, go-cart riders,
"Mardi Gras" Barbie and the King and Queen of Chatuga. Everyone
grabbed necklaces, beads, candy and small toys as the parade passed
by the campers and counselors. What a full first day! All campers are
in their cabins getting ready for bed.
