Session E
It's Friday Night
The final council ring went off without a hitch tonight. Everyone put on their best tropical dress and walked over to the council ring. Alfie made the biggest bonfire of the season! Campers got trophies for numbers of years, green cards for special talents or abilities and sang songs at the top of their lungs. All of the cabins that scored at least one 12 during the week for cabin clean-up got an ICEE POP before going down to their cabins. We have truly enjoyed your campers and look forward to seeing them again next year!

We have the winners! The cleanest cabins this week were: Shasta, Cheyenne for the girls and Ottowa took it for the men. These cabins enjoyed an ice cream party at the beginning of rest hour. Yum!

We had a heathly breakfast this morning and then all went back to their cabins to clean. This marks the last cabin cleanup for Inspection. The cabin with the highest score will receive an ice cream party after lunch. Since this session is almost over, everyone is siked about their final activities. Campers were running at the first bell to get to their class. We will try to post more pictures as the final day continues.

Thursday:
We had Hillbilly lunch today with campers dressed in overalls, dirty white T-shirts, buck teeth, straw hats and dotted on freckles. Campers are in their cabins enjoying rest hour getting a rest before a busy. This afternoon is our last afternoon activity.

Wednesday: Capture the Flag was a hit with the men. They played an extra 5 minutes because it was that fun. The boys also had a twilight swim which cooled those tired feet off! Girls made it to their campout sites and roasted hotdogs, ate p&j sandwiches and made s'mores over the campfire. What a super night it has been here at Chatuga.

We had a super lunch of pop corn chicken, rice, gravy, green peas, salad and banana pudding. Everyone headed to rest hour after lunch and then went to swim. We are having our 2nd afternoon activity: campfire cooking with Sydney & Lori, Innertubing with Valler & Dane and Riferly with Diana. Then, girls are heading to their campouts while the boys play Capture the Flag.

Campers are having fun in their activities today. Some are making friendship bracelets with Valler & Lauren, playing soccer with Ryan, swimming with Nan & Jason and mountain biking with Dane. The sun is out and there is a breeze that is cooling off the campers as they hike and shoot arrows at archery. We are loving this group of campers

Looks like the men are having a super time at their campouts! Steve went around taking photos of the guys at their site tonight while the girls played Capture the Flag. The white team won the tournament with a 6-4 score against the white team! The ladies are enjoying a dip in the lake while the boys are out roasting marshmellows!

Tuesday:

We love Camp Chatuga!
With the sun shining and smiles on faces, campers made there way to their first activity this morning. Campers played tennis with Bobby, had horseback with Sherly and Leppi, played ping-pong with Ryan and started Paper Mache creatures with Leanna. We are enjoying the lake, canoeing, icecream sandwiches, Cheerwines and Chex Mix for our canteen time. This afternoon we will have another activity and then the men are off to the woods for their campout!

Monday:

C.C. has already made a friend!

Travis "relaxing" with the boys!

Everyone arrived safe and sound to Camp today. Campers quickly unpacked and headed right into activity circuit. After listening to all of the activities that were offered, campers made their way to the dining hall to sign up for what they wanted. Ronnie, our chef, cooked out for us. He had hamburgers, hotdogs, baked beans, chips and all the fixin's. Cabins gathered on the hillside to enjoy their supper and enjoy the lakeside view. We have call to quarters in a few minutes and then taps for camp. Tomorrow we will start fresh and will have more pictures up for you to view. Check back with us to see what we are up to!
